Power facilities under attack in the region
The country's power facilities have come under escalating strikes in recent weeks

Several individuals were injured while inhabitants in eastern districts were plunged into darkness and encountered interruptions to water supplies, according to municipal leaders.

At the same time, a young boy was killed in a different assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, according to regional authorities.

Moscow has increased attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while the country's government has called for "real steps" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.
